Welcome to Saint Oswald Lodge No. 6135
Welcome to the website of Saint Oswald Lodge No. 6135. The Lodge falls under the jurisdiction of the United Grand Lodge of England and is part of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Northumberland. We meet at the Masonic Hall, Corbridge Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne, on the first Thursday of each month (except January, July and August), commencing at 7.00 p.m. All Brethren are invited to join us; we assure you of a warm welcome and a very pleasant evening.
The purpose of this website however is not just to remind existing Members of the Craft what they already know, but because this site is open and available to all, we hope to promote Freemasonry to 'Just, Upright and Free Men' who may be interested in finding out more about Freemasonry, possibly even to the extent of applying for membership. We hope in such cases, you will apply to join Saint Oswald Lodge!
Saint Oswald Lodge was formed out of the comradeship of the officers and men of the 12th Battalion, Northumberland Home Guard and was consecrated on 11th July 1945 by R.W.Bro. Sir Cecil A. Cochrane, Provincial Grand Master. Saint Oswald is a small friendly lodge that still works very hard to enshrine the principles of comradeship forged by our founders. Whilst we as individuals have very little personal knowledge of those men today, we strive to keep their memory alive via the fellowship you will be offered should you be able to find the time to visit us or wish to join us.
Please feel free to browse our site and if you have any questions, or wish to find out more, please don't hesitate to contact us.
